The Final Countdown

Friday's Lecture

The lecture on Friday (27th April) has been replaced by a 2 hour lab session in 16E28 (Jordanstown) from 9:15 -11:15.

This will give you extra time as a group to meet and continue the practical group work in preparation for the crit in week 12 and staff will be in attendance to support any issues or queries you may have.

Production of a Screencast

For the final client crit in week 12 each group is asked to produce a screencast demoing your group website.

In order to allow each groups to get feedback from the client you will be allocated a 5 minute slot in which your screencast will be shown and the remaining time will be allocated to feedback. If you miss your slot by turning up late, you may miss your opportunity for feedback.

The screencast must be uploaded to your group space as Homework 3.3 by Thursday 3rd May at 9PM and it should be saved as an .MOV. Please name your video XX_screencast.mov replacing XX with your group number e.g. 4_screencast.mov and it should be no more than 60mb in size (zip it if needs be). As a backup you should also bring a copy with you to the crit on a USB key or CD/DVD.

The screencast should be a maximum of 2 minutes and should be a walkthrough with audio commentary of your groups functional website, highlighting features such as navigation, site structure, accessibility, interactive elements etc.

To produce the screencast you can use QuickTime Player which is installed on all the Mac's in the Labs. A tutorial has been created that outlines the screencasting process and you can download it below.

Allocated Group times

If no video is submitted your group will have to present & talk through your work live, during your allocated time.
