Timeless Design

Client update

The following material has just been sent from the client.

Please read carefully and, if necessary adjust your website design accordingly.

If your team does not have the necessary technical capabilities don't panic. Your design can still accommodate what the client has asked for, they fully appreciate that some of the resources asked may be beyond some students capabilities at this stage.

Copy begins…

Countryside NI has a new primary goal. We aim to provide a networked meeting place to bring together local groups and people that are concerned about the over development of the region’s countryside. There are a considerable number of local groups that care about over-development in their area but their voice is rarely heard beyond their locality. We want to bring those groups together in a safe and friendly environment to harness their collective voice. On this website we want everybody to be able to share their experiences of campaigning to protect the countryside. We feel that from sharing our experiences, good or bad, we can all learn how to defend our local countryside from the ravages of over-development.

As the mission has changed, the website specification must be changed slightly to reflect the new focus. The resource section has now become key to the viability of the website. The resource section must include a comprehensive contact database consisting of every local planning group, planning offices, councillors, MLA’s and MP’s. As Countryside NI will supply this information all we need is an easy and secure method to upload the information. We would also like the ability to plot the addresses on a Google maps image next to the directory.

The resource section must also include an area where documents can be uploaded after a check from an administrator. Some sort of Content Management System would be required where uploads could be given tags which would then place them in the right folder. We now expect a considerable amount of documents to be uploaded and consequently the design must take sheer document volume into account.
