Design Specification
Homework 2.2 - Design Specification Part 1
The next homework will look at the Design Specification. This will be a document that will contain the following:
- Team Work Breakdown - Who is doing what in the project and how long it is expected to take. This is usually accompanied by a gantt chart to outline your project timescale.
- Content Audit - An audit of the websites content based on the clients needs and your recommendations.
- Navigation Structure - Discuss your recommendations for the type of navigation. There should be some research to support and evidence your chosen method.
- Technical Specification - What technologies will you use (HTML, CSS, PHP, JS etc) What CMS will you use and your reason for choosing it (There should be evidence of research into several CMS and your rational reasoning for settling for the one you did. What other technical issues have your team considered (Display, Browsers, Devices)
You can split the sections up and assign one to each team member or if you prefer you can work on it collectively.
As always your, individual work should be evidenced in your Research Diary & Creative Experimentation.
