Week 12 – Final Feedback
DES106 Hand-in Details
Hand-in day for all of your DES106 material will be Monday 9th January 2011 between 12.00–13.00.
All of your work – Design Diary and Projects – should be handed in on a CD or USB thumb drive (may not be returned) clearly marked with your student number, DES106 and your name.
Every year there are a few CDs that don't work, these are seen as a "Did not submit" and require a re-sit. Can you please ensure that all of your media have been tested and work before you hand it in.
While we will be using the material on your webspace to mark from, we may need to use the disks if there are any issues with the IMD server, so please make sure your disk contains everything we need and that it works.
Your work should be handed in to me at the Belfast Campus on C floor (the floor above the lecture theatre. If you are coming up the stairs take a left (right if you are taking the lift) and walk past the School Office, through the double doors and I will be sitting close to the kitchen area on the far side (above the LRC). I will have the necessary forms which you must complete and sign personally to complete your module submission.
A non-submission at this stage will result in you failing the module with a re-sit over the summer.
Have a great Christmas and we will see you in the new year.
On-campus Laptop FTP Access
The University will be closed from 24th December and reopen again on 4th January. This means there will be no access to the Mac Labs in 16E28 during the Christmas closure.
FTP access to your student showcases cannot be guaranteed during this period either, therefore we strongly advise that you backup all your work onto a USB Drive/Dropbox before the 24th December.
The following information will help those who can't gain FTP access with their laptops on campus:
Here is the process of connecting a laptop to our ENGJ network to allow port 21 access for FTP:
The 'Student' WiFi logon only allows port 80 Web access so all students should use the ENGJ network.
Please pass this on to any student having issues with FTP from within any of the campuses.
Remote FTP Access
